As we grow up, we realised that a lot of things from our childhood subconsciously impacted our decisions.

Project Engineer, James Brand recalls one of the best pieces of advice that he has ever received was none other than from his father. This one still resonates with him to this day.

James started his career in construction in 2014, but what's interesting is that at the beginning, he wasn't sure what he wanted to pursue. Then, a work experience at St. Andrews hospital during its construction phase kick-started James' fascination. From then on, it was a no-brainer for James to pursue a career in construction.

Any significant project highlights so far?

"There are a few already and I have been quite lucky to work on major projects back home in Scotland and over in Australia, but the main highlight is always the people. No matter where you go in the world, Engineering seems to bring people from all walks of life together for a singular goal."

What’s the best advice you were ever given?

"My dad said to me when I was very young, “Don’t just stroll or life will pass you by.” I guess I was a slow walker."

If you can describe CaSE in 3 words, what would they be?

"Diverse, skilled, driven."
