Parramatta Light Rail is one of the NSW Government’s major infrastructure projects, being delivered to serve a growing Sydney. The light rail will create new communities, connect great places, and help both locals and visitors move around and explore what the region has to offer.
Stage 1, connecting Westmead to Carlingford via the Parramatta CBD and Camellia, officially opened to passengers in December 2024.
CaSE Contractors provided engineering support to the construction team during the planning, procurement, and early works stages of the project. CaSE also supported the construction phase and was involved in writing contracts and tender packages for utility relocations, material supply, labour hire (including traffic control), and design work.
CaSE facilitated the review of preliminary design drawings for constructability and raised change requests where necessary. The team also compiled work packs for early construction works such as site investigations, traffic switches, and utility works. CaSE’s management team contributed to cost forecasting for design packages including drainage, pavements, combined service routes, and multi-functional poles.
CaSE & Pike Design provided a design check for the lifting and transportation of a 60-metre span arch bridge using strand jacks. They also conducted a peer review of the complete operation to the project’s JV management team to support confidence in the process.
