Project Overview

The Forth Road Bridge is a suspension bridge located near Edinburgh in Scotland. The bridge opened in 1964, and at the time was the longest suspension bridge in the world outside the United States.

The bridge spans the Firth of Forth and at its peak carried 65,000 vehicles a day. In 2018, was redesignated as a dedicated Public Transport Corridor, after being closed for repairs and refurbishment, since the adjacent Queensferry Crossing was opened in August 2017.

Our Role

CaSE has been providing support to the maintenance works including temporary works design packages and Category 3 checks for various access layouts together with inspecting and reporting on conditions of existing underdeck gantries to facilitate refurbishment activities.
