About the Role
CaSE is seeking a Senior Structural Drafter to take a lead role in structural drafting, digital modelling and construction-focused detailing across New Zealand and international projects. Working alongside engineers, designers and delivery teams across multiple regions, you will support the development of complex infrastructure, buildings, precast and structural steel projects from concept through to construction.
This role is suited to a senior Revit user who can produce high-quality models and drawings, coordinate with engineers and project teams, and support junior drafters. The focus is on detailed, buildable outputs across complex infrastructure, building structures, precast, reinforced concrete and steel fabrication packages.
The role requires someone who is technically strong, practical, detail-focused and comfortable working as part of a remote, delivery-focused digital engineering team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead structural drafting and BIM delivery across assigned projects.
- Produce advanced Revit models, drawings and technical documentation.
- Deliver reinforcement detailing, rebar schedules and concrete detailing packages.
- Produce steel fabrication and shop drawing documentation.
- Coordinate precast, reinforced concrete and structural steel detailing.
- Review drawings and models for accuracy, clarity, coordination and buildability.
- Coordinate with engineers, contractors, fabricators and project teams.
- Support clash detection, model federation and multidisciplinary coordination.
- Mentor intermediate and junior drafters.
- Support the improvement of modelling workflows, templates and QA processes.
- Contribute to practical construction methodology and detailing reviews.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Diploma, Advanced Diploma or equivalent qualification in Structural Drafting, Civil Engineering Drafting, Digital Engineering or a related discipline.
- Extensive structural drafting, BIM and Revit experience.
- Strong background in reinforcement detailing and rebar scheduling.
- Experience producing fabrication-ready drawings and shop drawing packages.
- Strong understanding of precast, reinforced concrete and structural steel detailing.
- Experience across infrastructure, bridges, buildings, industrial or complex civil projects.
- Strong QA mindset and ability to review other drafters’ work.
- Ability to manage priorities across multiple projects.
- Comfortable working with remote project teams and external stakeholders.
- Practical construction understanding, not just model production.
- Strong communication skills and willingness to support team development.
