Job Description

CaSE Contractors is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our team. As a Project Engineer you are to ensure the effective coordination and control of engineering works for a designated project through activities of technical, engineering, inspection, scheduling, planning, survey, procurement and quality control based on CaSE / Clients standards. On-site the Project Engineer is responsible in assisting to ensure the safe and successful completion of the project on schedule, within budget and to the specified quality.

Duties and Responsibilities in your role as Project Engineer
Quality, Environmental and Safety:
  • Ensure all quality and environmental aspects of the project are addressed to maintain effective operation and project delivery.
  • Ensures non-conformances are recorded and corrective actions initiated as soon as practically possible.
  • Prepares Inspection Test Reports and checklists that accurately reflect contract requirements.
  • Conducts basic internal audits on project suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Leads by example by meeting your own safety KP ls whilst ensuring project team member(Ensure Site Supervisor is briefed and is aware of all activities and risks
  • Check that all activities and issues are documented on ‘site diary’ forms by the Site Supervisor
Planning and Operations
  • Manage the operational aspects of work crews to ensure the effective and efficient use of systems and processes involved with all phases of the project management model.
  • Ensures. the delegated scope of works meets or exceed the required performance targets in relation to time, cost and quality.
  • Provides input for the preparation of the short, medium and long-term planning of the program works.
  • Reviews the subcontractors construction program(s) and assists in identifying critical areas/risks.
  • Forecasts the number of labour hours for scope of works.
  • Ensures availability to answer questions from site team and elevate to Project Engineer as necessary.
Resourcing
  • Responsible and accountable to ensure that the requirements of the Contract are being satisfied at work crew level.
  • Coordinate resource allocation with the expectation that you would encourage effective teamwork and foster a positive attitude toward the achievement of organisational objectives.
  • Track -subcontractor resources daily and record-accurately.
  • Prepares cost plan/resources for daily cost planning meeting.
The successful candidate will possess:
  • 5+ years’ experience in a similar role
  • Good negotiation skills and experience dealing with external stakeholders and regulators
  • Excellent communication skills
  • University Degree in Civil Engineering is desirable
